Radiation Oncology
Cutting-edge Precision and Effectiveness
Welcome to the Radiation Oncology Service at Hospital Ruber Internacional!
We are dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer using cutting-edge technology and high-precision radiation treatments. We have a highly specialized and committed team, consisting of five doctors with extensive professional experience in the field of Radiation Oncology. We strive to provide the best care and attention to each of our patients.
We have the most advanced technology in radiotherapy and radiosurgery treatments. We use specific energy waves to irradiate very small areas of tissue from many different positions with submillimeter precision. These beams directly target the tumor, even when the patient moves, minimizing effects on healthy tissue and reducing potential side effects. Our goal is to provide precise and personalized treatments that deliver the best results and minimize potential side effects for our patients.
We understand that facing cancer can be a challenge, and we are here to assist you on this journey. Our commitment is to offer you comprehensive and compassionate care and to ensure that you feel supported and safe at all times.
We are committed to providing you with a positive and satisfying experience at each visit, where human warmth and personalized attention are fundamental.
If you have any questions or need to schedule an appointment, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Comprehensive support every step of the way.

Cutting-edge Radiotherapy with Personalized Care
We have the most advanced technology in radiotherapy treatments, including CyberKnife. A robotic radiosurgery system that offers significant advantages, such as real-time tracking of tumor movement through the "Synchrony" system, which automatically adjusts to changes in the patient's breathing. Thanks to this precision, the radiation is focused only on the tumor, protecting the surrounding healthy tissue.
We actively participate in scientific publications, conferences, and research at an international level, keeping ourselves at the forefront in cancer treatment.
Additionally, our Service holds the ISO 9001 certification in Quality Management System, which guarantees our commitment to excellence in all processes and patient care.
We are committed to research and advancement in the field of radiation oncology. Our specialists are actively involved in working groups of the Spanish Society of Radiation Oncology (SEOR).
We treat a wide variety of cancer-related pathologies and other conditions. Around 60-65% of cancer patients, whether newly diagnosed or at different stages of the disease, receive radiotherapy treatment at our Service.
The pathologies we commonly treat fall into three main groups:
- Malignant Neoplasms
This includes the most common tumors in our country, such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, rectal cancer, and various digestive, gynecological, and genitourinary tumors. We also treat brain tumors, head and neck tumors, as well as sarcomas and other types of cancer.
- Benign Neoplasms
In this group, we care for patients with conditions such as schwannomas, meningiomas, pituitary adenomas, lipomas, fibromas, chondromas, and other non-cancerous conditions.
- Non-Oncological Benign Pathology
This group includes various non-cancerous conditions, such as osteoarticular pathologies like osteoarthritis, heel spurs, and plantar fasciitis. Additionally, we treat soft tissue pathologies such as keloids, Dupuytren's disease/Ledderhose disease, and fibromatosis. We also provide care for vascular pathologies, such as arteriovenous malformations and hemangiomas.
The Most Advanced Radiosurgery and Radiotherapy
We carry out advanced and precise treatments for various diseases using cutting-edge technology. Our technology includes:
CyberKnife M6
A radiosurgery and radiotherapy system that tracks tumor movement during irradiation, allowing therapy to be focused on the tumor and avoiding damage to nearby organs. It is applied in brain lesions and mobile extracranial areas.
3D Conformal Radiotherapy
Provides a three-dimensional view of the tumor and directs radiation beams that adapt to its shape, increasing the precision and effectiveness of the treatment.
Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT)
Allows radiation to be dosed according to the size of the tumor, and we are pioneers in its application alongside stereotactic techniques.
Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT)
Administers radiation adapting to the tumor through a single 360º arc in less than two minutes
Intraoperative Radiotherapy
In selected patients, radiation is administered directly to the surgical area after tumor removal, completing the treatment of surgery and radiotherapy in a single intervention
We treat a wide variety of malignant and benign neoplasms, including breast, prostate, lung, rectal cancer, digestive tumors, gynecological tumors, brain tumors, sarcomas, and more. Additionally, we address non-oncological benign pathologies, such as schwannomas, meningiomas, fibromas, among others.
Precise and personalized treatment with a human and close approach.
The CyberKnife M6 is an advanced radiosurgery and radiotherapy technology that offers various advantages for the treatment of tumors and lesions in different parts of the body. Some of the main advantages of the CyberKnife M6 are:
- Millimetric Precision: The CyberKnife M6 uses a real-time motion tracking system called "Synchrony," which allows for tracking and automatically adjusting the radiation beam to the tumor or lesion's movement during irradiation. This guarantees millimetric precision, enabling the therapy to be concentrated directly on the tumor, thus minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
- Non-invasive Treatment: The CyberKnife M6 is a non-invasive treatment, meaning no surgery or incisions are required. Patients do not experience the trauma associated with traditional surgery, which reduces risks and postoperative complications.
- Increased Comfort for the Patient: During treatment sessions with the CyberKnife M6, patients can remain comfortably lying down. It is not necessary to be immobilized in a mask or frame, which provides a more comfortable experience during therapy.
- Personalized Treatment: The CyberKnife M6 allows for personalized planning and adaptation for each patient and their specific condition. Doctors can adjust the dose and direction of the radiation beam to suit the individual characteristics of the tumor or lesion.
- Fewer Treatment Sessions: In many cases, the CyberKnife M6 offers shorter treatments compared to other forms of radiotherapy. By utilizing the precision of the system, an effective dose can be administered in fewer sessions, reducing the total treatment time.
- Versatility in Treatment Locations: The CyberKnife M6 focuses not only on brain lesions but also on mobile extracranial areas such as the lungs, prostate, bones, spine, lymph nodes, liver, pancreas, and soft tissues, thus avoiding the need for invasive surgery in many cases.
- Proven Clinical Results: The technology of the CyberKnife M6 has proven effective in the treatment of a wide range of tumors and lesions. Clinical results support its efficacy in controlling tumor growth and relieving symptoms.
