Quick and Accurate Diagnosis

In Vascular Pathology, we apply the latest technologies and advanced procedures to provide tailored solutions.

Diagnostic Procedures

We are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, including:

  • Doppler Ultrasound

The most commonly used technique to assess blood flow and detect obstructions. It is quick, effective, and non-invasive. A vascular exam combined with a Doppler ultrasound is often sufficient to diagnose most conditions.

  • Angio-CT and Angio-MRI

These advanced imaging diagnostic techniques enable detailed examinations of the arterial and venous systems without the need for invasive procedures. Angio-CT uses X-rays to generate three-dimensional images, providing a detailed view of vascular anatomy. In contrast, Angio-MRI utilizes magnetic fields and radio waves, making it particularly useful for studying blood vessels in different planes without exposing the patient to radiation.

Diagnostic-Therapeutic Procedures

We have a modern digital vascular angiography suite with biplane imaging and a hybrid operating room, enabling diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a single session:

  • Arteriography

A minimally invasive diagnostic technique providing anatomical and dynamic information about arteries. It allows immediate treatment with angioplasty when necessary.

  • Phlebography

A minimally invasive diagnostic test offering high-quality images of vein morphology and flow. Pelvic or iliocavography phlebography can measure pressure gradients and perform embolization treatments during the same session.

Varices pelvicasVarices pelvicas

At Hospital Ruber Internacional, we are leaders in the study and treatment of Pelvic Congestion Syndrome, also known as pelvic varices, a condition that is often underdiagnosed and significantly impacts the quality of life of those affected. This condition presents with a variety of symptoms, including:

  • Persistent pelvic pain lasting more than six months
  • Discomfort during and after sexual intercourse
  • A feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen
  • Excessively painful menstruation
  • Increased urinary frequency
  • Varicose veins in the genital area and lower limbs

While PCS is commonly associated with women who have had multiple pregnancies, it can also affect men, manifesting as testicular varicocele and even causing infertility.

Our treatment approach focuses on embolizing all pathological pelvic veins, significantly improving patients’ quality of life. Our Angiology and Vascular Surgery service collaborates closely with the Postpartum Unit to support patients experiencing PCS symptoms after childbirth.

Additionally, varices can result from compressive syndromes like Nutcracker Syndrome (left renal vein compression) and May-Thurner Syndrome.

Innovative Treatments

At the Angiology and Vascular Surgery Department of Hospital Ruber Internacional, we take pride in offering innovative treatments supported by the most advanced technology, aiming to ensure optimal outcomes for our patients.

Our approach focuses on the application of minimally invasive endovascular treatments, which avoid large incisions and allow for a speedy recovery.

  • Venous Treatments

We employ techniques like radiofrequency for varicose veins in the lower limbs, pelvic varices embolization, venous stenting for compressions, and pharmacomechanical thrombolysis for venous thrombosis. These procedures effectively improve venous health and quality of life.

  • Arterial Treatments

Our arterial treatments include endoprostheses for aneurysms, arterial embolization, arterial stenting, and revascularization for arterial stenosis. These advanced techniques restore proper circulation with precision and safety.

  • Surgical Treatments

In addition to endovascular treatments, we are experts in procedures such as arterial bypass, carotid surgery, and traditional abdominal aortic aneurysm repair. Our highly skilled team prioritizes effectiveness and patient safety throughout every step of the process.

  • Aesthetic Treatments for Varicose Veins

For patients seeking aesthetic improvement of varicose veins, we offer advanced treatments such as sclerotherapy for spider veins, foam treatment for residual varices in the lower limbs, and varicose vein treatment in the genital area. These procedures enhance appearance while restoring confidence and comfort in daily life.

Experience and Commitment to Medical Excellence.
