Advanced and Safe Treatments
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a medical condition in which the kidneys experience a gradual and progressive decline in their ability to perform normal functions. This disease is characterized by the loss of kidney function over an extended period of time.
CKD can be caused by various diseases affecting the kidneys, with the most common being arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus. We work in collaboration with other medical services to ensure precise diagnosis and assessment of kidney function, aiming to establish medical and dietary treatments that prevent CKD progression and the need for dialysis.
The diagnosis of CKD is based on clinical manifestations and abnormalities in blood and urine tests. These may include reduced urine output, increased blood urea and creatinine levels, and elevated electrolytes such as potassium. Additionally, kidney ultrasound may reveal reduced size and structural changes in the kidneys.
The treatment of CKD is divided into conservative treatment and dialysis. Conservative treatment aims to protect residual kidney function and slow disease progression, while dialysis (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis) is used to remove toxins and fluids through artificial filters or the peritoneal membrane.
In some cases, CKD may require a kidney transplant.
You can rely on our nephrology service to provide expert and personalized care in managing chronic kidney disease. We are committed to offering the best possible treatment and care to preserve your kidney health and improve your overall well-being.
Our nephrology specialists have extensive experience and cutting-edge equipment to perform various diagnostic techniques, including:
